A.A. Milne

British author Alan Alexander Milne was born on this day in 1882. Milne was a prolific playwright and writer for the first 20 years of his career before he created the Hundred Acre Wood and Winnie the Pooh. The little bear became one of the most beloved children's characters of all time.
