Fussy has a hunch that her readers, like her, could use something uplifting.

What better way — for those who aren’t allergic, that is — than to look for the union of our two favorite things?

So we present a roundup of literary cat links, photos, and videos for you to check out while you wait for the weekend to officially arrive.

Dusty (Sadye's beloved pudgy curmudgeon)

If you’re at the office, pull out your earbuds and watch cats re-enact “Game of Thrones,” “The Hunger Games,” and the Harry Potter series.

If you’re on Tumblr, you may want to follow the accounts The Literary Cat and Cats Hate Reading. (Self-promotion alert: Pinterest users might also enjoy browsing and adding to our Tails and Tales board.)

Maybe cats would like reading more if these titles weren’t just spoofs. Or if their owners had purchased/borrowed any of these titles

Ringo (Sadye's cuddlebug, who does suffer from resting grinch face)

The current human oeuvre doesn’t seem to have discouraged these bookish cats, however.

Nor was this group embarrassed to take book-shelfies with their owners’ reading material.

But the pairing of cats and writing predates the digital era by a long shot — Interesting Literature shares a variety of feline-related facts and authors’ reflections on their furbabies that go beyond Ernest Hemingway.
