Magazine invites writers to finish Louisa May Alcott's short story

The Strand Magazine is publishing Louisa May Alcott’s short story “Aunt Nellie’s Diary” for the very first time.

And also for the first time, it will receive an ending. Several endings, in fact.

Alcott, reports the Guardian, started the tale at age seventeen — twenty years before Little Women — and wrote 9,000 words before abandoning it.

So the magazine is inviting writers to wrap up the tale, which stars an orphaned teenage girl and her mysterious friend who are both seeking the romantic attentions of a handsome young man.
