Those of you who live in areas where cicadas are emerging may not want to think about the chattering creatures.

Poetry fans, though, will appreciate that Margaret Atwood has helped mark the occasion.

You can listen to Atwood read her poem “Cicadas” from last year’s collection, Dearly, thanks to NPR’s All Things Considered.
