If you’re an avid reader — as authors are counseled to be — you will no doubt have noticed that chapter length and totals can vary widely from book to book (and even within one book).

That said, it’s nice sometimes to have an idea of what is typical, and that’s how Dave Chesson has opened his post on how to write a chapter.

He also covers the characteristics of a good chapter and how to begin and conclude them.

Chesson’s post on writing chapters, which covers both fiction and nonfiction, is on the Kindlepreneur blog.
