Earlier this summer, we shared news of Germany’s “Project Cassandra,” which analyzed literature in an attempt to predict various political crises.
That’s not the only military-literary partnership, as it turns out.
Literary Hub shared a short post, using reporting from Le Monde and WorldCrunch, about the French Military of Defense’s latest project with the University of Paris Sciences and Lettres.
Science-fiction writers from the latter dream up scenarios that could put France in danger in the next few decades; academics in AI and tech fact-check the scenarios for plausibility; and the military develops a plan to handle the situations.
Apparently, you can even preview a few of these scenarios online.
Lit Hub’s summary includes links to the original reporting as well as the two publicly available crisis scenarios.
