Instead of speculative fiction, we're going to share some speculation about fiction.

Joumana Khatib is the latest journalist to cover the mystery of who, exactly, Elena Ferrante really is, with current theories and Ferrante's own (sparse) commentary on the drama in The New York Times.

Shifting the mystery from the author to the work is Maddy Myers, who argues that George R.R. Martin's heart just isn't in finishing The Winds of Winter and that, while it's disappointing for fans of the Song of Ice and Fire series, the kind thing for fans to do would be to stop pressuring him on the matter.
