It’s fall, and school is in (some sort of) session — the conditions that, in a normal year, would inspire a sense of a fresh start in many of us.

But, of course, it’s not a normal year, and the future that we see isn’t crisp looseleaf pages and freshly sharpened pencils.

That said, Kris Rusch urges her fellow writers to embrace the fact that there is a future.

There may be considerable uncertainty and several variables, like the results of the election, but Rusch believes that we have enough information available now to plan, versus simply react.

Her post doesn't sugar-coat anything, but it does end on that high note of reclaiming the future, so head over to her blog if you need a pep talk.
