In the wake of massive tragedies, the resumption of everyday or mundane activities can feel weird, especially if they’re public … like writing (and publishing) novels.
Author David Corbett had been ready to upload a post to the Writer Unboxed blog when Wednesday’s attack on the US Capitol took place.
In the wake of the violence and its consequences, he found himself wondering what place fiction even has in such a world.
He turned to history to find that answer and has shared it on Writer Unboxed instead of that craft columnn he’d planned on posting — a valuable reminder in and of itself of the need for flexibility.
