Author Kelsey Allagood knows that her latest advice on exploring character motivation might be a step too far for some.

She suggests that even if you’re not writing something speculative, you consider the creation myths of your character’s culture.

After all, even if your novel takes place centuries past those myths’ creations, they’ve had a marked effect on the culture’s morality, ethics, and social behavior.

Allagood explains creation myths, the questions to consider about them, and how they affect a character’s motivation in a post for Writer Unboxed.
