Author Deanna Cabinian came to a funny realization recently: the more time she has to write, the less she actually does.
When she lost her job recently, she found herself drawn not to the computer but rather to other projects — such as preparation for the birth of a child.
It wasn’t until she had less than a month before delivery that Cabinian felt compelled — and able — to write.
And now that her baby is here, so too is her inspiration and drive to crank out just a few pages whenever she has a minute.
Cabinian has a few theories as to why she’s more interested in writing when she has less time, and she shares those at Writer Unboxed to perhaps help others recognize the same (or similar) tendencies in themselves.
