The publishing experts we follow have plenty of creative process advice to offer.

Here are the ones that we thought were can't-miss for our authors:

  • Writing through fear: Joanna Penn interviews author Caroline Donahue about common fears authors face and how to stop them from stifling their creativity (The Creative Penn).

  • Practical and fun tips for overcoming writer's block: Author Elizabeth Stix identifies the two sources of writer's block and what to do in each scenario (Women Writers, Women's Books).

  • Serendipity: Author Kathleen McCleary explores the ways in which serendipity has influenced her writing and shares how to keep your mind open to it (Writer Unboxed).

  • Seven step-by-step writing lessons: Author Kathryn Craft turns to an early influential reading experience for these tips (Writer Unboxed).

  • Should you show a WIP to friends and family?: Anne R. Allen shares her experience with letting non-writers read early drafts and how to handle the feedback, whether you find it helpful or harmful (Anne R. Allen's Blog ... with Ruth Harris).
