The publishing experts we follow have plenty of business and marketing advice and news to offer.

Here are the ones that we thought were can't-miss for our authors:

  • New publishing platform for AI audiobooks: The new ElevenReader Publishing platform allows authors to upload a document, select an AI voice, and have the resulting audiobook be available for free through ElevenReader's app (Publishers Weekly).

  • Traveling for book research: Joanna Penn's conversation with fellow author Luke Richardson covers some craft topics as well as business issues like becoming a full-time indie author, publishing through Kindle Unlimited, selling non-book items or experiences, and unpublishing certain books to maintain your brand (The Creative Penn).

  • Beyond book sales: ALLi member-authors discuss what they've learned about expanding into selling physical products (Alliance of Independent Authors).

  • Quick hits on copyright issues: Dan Holloway reports on the aftermath of the UK's public consultation on AI copyright and on academic libraries' shift to a subscription model (Alliance of Independent Authors).
