The publishing experts we follow have plenty of advice to offer, spanning a variety of topics.

Here are the ones that we thought were can't-miss for our authors:

  • What authors need to know about book influencers: Penny Sansevieri explains how to demonstrate to a book influencer that you view them as a collaborator, not as a tool (Author Marketing Experts).

  • How to earn income and visibility through libraries: Dale L. Roberts interviews award-winning author and publishing strategist Sylvia Hubbard about building a strong — and mutually beneficial — relationship with your local library (Alliance of Independent Authors).

  • Fostering creativity in an age of anxiety: In the past five years, Emilie-Noelle Provost has twice found herself in stretches where focusing and remaining calm is difficult, so she shares the practical steps she's taken to allow her creativity and ability to work (Writer Unboxed).

  • Should you write where you know?: Novelist and platform expert Kirsten Oliphant lays out the pros and cons to using a real place, versus creating one of your own — both in terms of the writing and the marketing of the book (Jane Friedman).
