Holding a grudge is so much easier than letting go of past slights, for many of us.

But hey, if a man held hostage for 2.5 years by Somali pirates can forgive his captors, we should rise to his example.

Journalist Michael Scott Moore discusses the incredible mental journey he took during his captivity with Fresh Air’s Dave Davies.

Moore recently published a memoir about that experience called The Desert and the Sea.
