We all know English borrowed heavily from a variety of other European languages, but chances are that you might not have realized the Native American influence as well.
Quite a few of the fifty-five words highlighted in Daily Writing Tips’s roundup relate to nature, and they all come from Algonquian languages (spoken in what is now eastern North America).
