Bookmakers, at least in the United Kingdom, see Esi Edugyan as the third-most likely to win this year’s Man Booker Prize.
So as the judges deliberate, sit back and listen to the Canadian author discuss her novel Washington Black with Fresh Air’s Sam Briger.
Washington Black, the book under consideration for the Man Booker Prize, tells the story of an enslaved boy whose master’s brother helps him escape from a Barbados plantation and takes him on an incredible journey of scientific discovery.
