Finding success in Hollywood isn’t easy even when you have all the advantages.

Add in gender politics, such as being biologically female but later realizing you may not identify as female, and you’ve just added even more steps to your journey.

Jill Soloway is the Emmy- and Golden Globe Award-winning creator of the show Transparent, and also the co-creator and director of the show I Love Dick.

Soloway prefers to use the pronoun “they” despite the title of their new memoir, She Wants It: Desire, Power, and Toppling the Patriarchy.
