The latest installment in the ongoing series of “don’t tick off writers” has arrived, in the form of a debate challenge.
Crime novelist Don Winslow has thrown down the glove, metaphorically, in inviting Donald Trump to discuss the president’s border-wall plans on Fox News.
Horror novelist Stephen King quickly responded to Winslow’s invitation on Tuesday in a follow-up tweet declaring that he would “pay $10,000 to see that!”.
Trump, so far, has not answered the call.
Winslow and King, as the Guardian notes in its article on the debate challenge, have both been vocal critics of Trump.
Winslow’s newest book, The Border, comes out February 26 and, as you might expect, takes place in the southernmost parts of the United States.
Read more about him and his debate request in the Guardian and the Los Angeles Times.
