Michael Wolff’s Siege: Trump Under Fire hasn’t officially hit shelves yet, but the author is already defending controversial claims in it.

A spokesman for special counsel Robert Mueller has refuted the book’s references to a “draft indictment” of Donald Trump.

Wolff, however, told NPR over the weekend that his claim and the Mueller rebuttal don’t necessarily conflict with one another.

Mueller’s spokesman said simply, in response to the words “draft indictment,” that “the documents described do not exist,” while Wolff says the document he saw is in fact a memo that outlines arguments that could have been made.

Siege, the sequel to Wolff's bestselling Fire and Fury, officially comes out tomorrow (June 4).
