Even writers adapting their own work can find the task of turning a beloved book into a show or movie daunting.
It turns out writers doing the opposite — creating books out of TV shows or films — can empathize.
With the recent release of a Stranger Things tie-in novel, the Guardian talked to three writers who have taken content from the screen to the page about their experiences.
