While you’re stocking up for the Fourth of July, don’t forget to grab some themed reading material.

Oh, who are we kidding — you don’t need a reminder, but you’ll never turn down more recommendations! (Beyond ours, of course, since we have historical fiction, historical romance, and action/adventure/military sections in our bargain-book library.)

Where better to start than with what the Journal of the American Revolution has compiled — one hundred works of nonfiction and ten novels.

The Historical Novel Society has no shortage of fiction to share, with short reviews to accompany each.

Younger readers won’t be left out, thanks to Modern Parents Messy Kids and the Cincinnati Library, which has a handful of recommendations for all ages.

BookRiot offers a variety of picks, too, from all genres and angles.

And for a slightly more traditional (and shorter) set of suggestions, check out A World Adventure By Book’s list.
