Stephen Chbosky’s first novel, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, became the The Catcher in the Rye of a more recent generation.

His follow-up novel, however, took a significantly different turn — from coming-of-age to creepy.

Amazon Book Review recently chatted with Chbosky about switching gears with Imaginary Friend and his inspiration for the novel, a transcript of which you can read online.
