The Women's Prize for Fiction won't be awarded until the fall, rather than in June, but the shortlist was revealed right on schedule.
Here are the six novels remaining in contention for the £30,000 prize (about $38,500 US):
-
Dominicana, by Angie Cruz.
-
Girl, Woman, Other, by Bernardine Evaristo.
-
A Thousand Ships, by Natalie Haynes.
-
The Mirror and the Light, by Hilary Mantel.
-
Hamnet, by Maggie O’Farrell.
-
Weather, by Jenny Offill.
The winner, chosen by a public vote, will be announced on September 9.
