David Attenborough is releasing a book this fall that he’s calling his “witness statement” to our environmental crisis.

A Life on Our Planet will include his observations over a long career as a naturalist and broadcaster, as well as what he believes we must do to solve the problems we’ve created.

“This book records some of the dreadful damage mankind has already wrought upon the natural world, and the real and imminent danger that things could get much, much worse if we do not act now,” Attenborough told the Guardian.

“But it is also a hopeful book: it offers a different future.”

The book will come out in October, at least in the United Kingdom, but you can watch a trailer for the accompanying documentary below.
