Audiobook lovers will receive a special treat next month: five stories from acclaimed authors that are only available in audio.
Half Light by Tayari Jones; The Gentleman from Peru by Andre Aciman; The Getaway by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen; This is Not Your Fault by Courtney Maum; and Everyone’s Happy by Rufi Thorpe come out in August as Audible exclusives.
Jones most recently wrote An American Marriage, which won the 2019 Women's Prize for Fiction; Aciman is best known for Call Me By Your Name, which was developed into an acclaimed film.
In less exciting news for Amazon’s audiobook arm, the executive who was chosen to lead the branch’s push into original content has stepped down after just a month.
Bloomberg reports, citing sources who requested to remain anonymous, that an old sexual-harassment lawsuit naming Brad Schwartz had resurfaced.
Schwartz was not a defendant in the lawsuit, which has been dismissed, but employees still raised concerns to Audible, after which he and the company worked out his departure.
