Novelist Tsitsi Dangarembga, who’s among this year’s Booker Prize nominees, has been freed on bail.

The Guardian reported Friday that Dangarembga was arrested as part of a crackdown on protests in Zimbabwe; citing Agence France-Presse, it now reports that she was released Saturday and charged with incitement to commit violence and breaching anti-coronavirus health regulations.

The author of This Mournable Body tweeted her thanks to supporters and urged fellow protesters to continue fighting for reform in Zimbabwe.

Dangarembga was told to return to court on September 18.
