Award-winning author Ocean Vuong will become the seventh author to contribute to Oslo’s Future Library.
Vuong, best known for his novel On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous and the TS Eliot prize-winning poetry collection Night Sky With Exit Wounds, joins the likes of Margaret Atwood, Han Kang, and Karl Ove Knausgård in this art project.
Contributors write a book of any length and any genre that won’t be published until 2114, when trees in an Oslo forest will be cut down and turned into the paper upon which these manuscripts are printed.
Vuong told the Guardian that he hasn’t yet begun his contribution to the collection because he’s struggled to write during the coronavirus pandemic.
