"On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous" will become a movie

Ocean Vuong revealed in an interview with fellow author Bryan Washington that his debut novel will be adapted into a movie.

On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous, told via a letter from a Vietnamese-American man to his mother, explores his family’s history; it was a bestseller in 2019 as well as a frequent inclusion on best-of lists.

A24, the film company that picked up Vuong’s novel, is also adapting Washington’s debut novel, Memorial, but it will be a limited series.
