Author Dave Eggers has special plans for his next novel, The Every.
The book, a follow-up to the 2013 hit The Circle, comes out in hardcover on October 5 in independent bookstores only, reports the New York Times.
Those wanting a paperback, audiobook, or ebook will have to wait six weeks until November 16, when The Every will be available at all retail outlets.
Eggers told the newspaper that he made the decision because he dislikes bullies, and Amazon “has been kicking sand in the face of independent bookstores for decades now.”
You can read more about The Every and its release details in the New York Times.
We eagerly await The Passive Voice's response to this news; Literary Hub's Emily Temple is glad to see it but hopes even bigger-name authors follow suit.
