Oprah Winfrey has chosen an author's debut novel as her latest book club selection.
The Sweetness of Water, by Nathan Harris, was revealed as her selection Tuesday, the same day as it was released.
The book is set in Georgia near the end of the Civil War and follows two recently freed brothers who find work on the farm of a man who believes his son was killed in the war.
“I was captivated by the work of Nathan Harris and look forward to discussing this debut novel with all of his new readers,” Winfrey said in a statement.
Readers can also watch the pair discuss the book on July 23 on Apple TV+.
