Harry Potter is returning to the stage, but depending on where you see him, you’ll see less of him.
The New York Times reports that the play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which is essentially a sequel to the smash-hit book series, will go from two parts to one in select cities.
New York City, San Francisco, and Toronto will feature a single-night version of the play, while London; Melbourne, Australia; and Hamburg, Germany, will continue to offer the two-part, two-night experience.
The lead producers cited challenges related to the scale of such a large show and related to the theater world’s emergence from its COVID-19 shutdown.
