The New York Times review of tennis legend Billie Jean King’s new autobiography describes it as feeling like a manifesto for future athlete-activists.

And given all the struggles she described in an interview to plug the book, it’s no wonder King wants to keep the fires stoked in other hearts.

All In: An Autobiography, written with the help of Johnette Howard and Maryanne Vollers, came out Tuesday, as did that new Fresh Air interview with Dave Davies (in which King certainly doesn't hold back).

You can read a transcript of the segment, which begins with a clip from a 2013 interview, on NPR’s website or listen below.
