The latest comic book hero to be at the center of an eye-popping sale is Captain America.
The New York Times reports that a near-mint-condition copy of the first Captain America comic book — dated March 1941 — was sold at auction Thursday for over $3.1 million.
While it's "just" the fourth-highest-priced comic book at auction, it's only the third debut issue to break the $3 million mark.
The cover art features Captain America punching Adolf Hitler.
