It's not much of a stretch to think that the dining room tables of the future will be porting different dishes than we see now.

But it's not just a matter of broadening palates; it's also an issue of the changing environment.

Bon Appétit magazine spoke to a few scientists about the nearer-term future — ten and twenty years down the road — but got creative with the longer-term picture.

Science-fiction writers including award-winning author Martha Wells got to share their visions of what we'll be eating in 2122.
