Close the book on the Costa Awards.
Officials with Costa Coffee, which sponsored the fifty-year-old prize, announced today on social media that the most recent round of awards were its last.
No reason was given in the statement, nor were plans revealed for anyone to take over the awards.
Publishing CEOs told The Bookseller that the decision was a "massive blow" for the industry.
