We've deeply enjoyed a number of recent author appearances in Des Moines, even from those whose books we haven't read.
If Becca Rothfeld is to be believed, we've truly been fortunate.
Rothfeld, an editor and essayist, wonders how many prominent writers find any time to write, with all the speaking they do — from podcasts to traditional media appearances to in-person events.
And, in her opinion, many of them have shown that their way with words is confined to the page.
Rothfeld's request that authors stop speaking and just keep writing is up at Gawker.
