R.O. Kwon's debut novel, The Incendiaries, became a bestseller and nominee for best book of the year from over forty publications.

And the attention hasn't fully faded, years later.

Deadline reports that the book is serving as the basis for a limited series; producers are currently shopping the project around.

However, it has some accomplished leaders: Lisa Randolph (Jessica Jones and Star Trek: Discovery) is writing the script, and Kogonada (Pachinko and After Yang) is directing the show.

"I’m thrilled that The Incendiaries has found its way to a team I’m so excited about," Kwon told Deadline.

The novel follows two college students who begin dating as they each work through some personal strife.

Eventually, one member joins a cult, the leader of which is the third narrator of the story.
