Just in time for Agatha Christie's birthday, an authorized collection of a dozen new stories about Miss Marple has been released.

Val McDermid and Lucy Foley are among the twelve authors who contributed to Marple, which collects the first official (i.e., authorized by the Christie estate) Miss Marple stories written by anyone besides Christie.

The authors shared admiration for and praise of Miss Marple with the Guardian.

Also in honor of Christie's birthday:

CrimeReads also compiled a list of Christie's most memorably unlikeable murder victims.
