A sentence we didn't expect to type: Dee Snider, lead singer of the metal band Twisted Sister, is writing a novel.
Snider will release a novel called Frats this year, he told a radio program, but didn't give a specific date.
It's a coming-of-age story set in the 1970s that will also take on toxic masculinity and how growing up in such an environment affects people, he said.
A much more expected sentence: Two-time National Book Award winner Jesmyn Ward has revealed her first novel in five years.
Let Us Descend comes out October 3 and tells the story of an enslaved teenage girl, weaving together historical fiction, magical realism, and classical influences (specifically, Dante's Inferno), reports The Associated Press.
