Somehow we missed this news last week: an unpublished novel from Gabriel García Márquez will come out next year.

Penguin Random House confirmed on Friday that En Agosto Nos Vemos (We’ll See Each Other in August) will come out across Latin America in 2024.

The Guardian reports that García Márquez's children have changed their stance on not publishing unfinished works, hence the appearance of this story nearly a decade after the author's death.

Rumors that this novel existed have circulated since 1999, when a short story believed to be the first chapter of a full novel was published in Colombian magazine Cambio.

Read more about this gift from García Márquez's archives in the Guardian.
