A collection of drafts, notes, sketches, and other early papers that became Truman Capote's classic book In Cold Blood has been published as a deluxe edition.
It's selling for $230 for the next few days — it goes up to $260 next week — so you may prefer to read the Guardian's coverage instead of purchasing.
Ed Pilkington notes that while the final version "does not shrink" from the violence, Capote's earlier writings are even more graphic and also contain his personal assessments of the two killers.
Specific examples of the former are in the Guardian article, so click over with care.
