It's a newly translated novel, but not a new novel.

Italian writer Natalia Ginzburg published The Road to the City, her debut novel, in 1942.

But her work has been returning to the spotlight (and English) over the past few years, including, most recently, The Road to the City (translated by Gini Alhadeff).

The novel stars Delia, a sixteen-year-old determined to make something more of her life than the rural poverty she was raised in.

You can read an excerpt of The Road to the City at Literary Hub and learn more about it in the New York Times's review.
