Posts to raise readers' eyebrows

Two recent posts from BookRiot certainly brought the "whoa" factor.

Addison Rizer highlighted eight of the most shocking first lines in fiction, and while I haven't read every single one of the novels, it's hard to disagree with her description of them as shocking.

On the other hand, K.W. Colyard was struck in a bad way by the one-star reviews left on these murder-mystery novels ... because these reviews don't necessarily offer much thought or nuance.
