Author Louisa May Alcott was born on this day in 1832.
She is, of course, beloved for Little Women, but that's not her only work — nor, says scholar Liz Rosenberg, is it even her best work.
Not to disrespect it; it's just that Rosenberg has the utmost praise and respect for Alcott's various works of nonfiction.
Rosenberg, who edited A Strange Life: Selected Essays of Louisa May Alcott, highlights some of her favorite nonfiction pieces from Alcott in an essay for Literary Hub.
