The New York Times had two updates on literature as theater this past week.

First was news that the musical Water for Elephants, based on the novel by Sara Gruen, will close on Broadway on December 8.

The high-energy production featured acrobats and puppets, making it expensive to produce; a national tour beginning in fall 2025 is still in the works.

Also coming in 2025: Succession actress Sarah Snook will bring her one-person stage adaptation of The Picture of Dorian Gray to Broadway.

Starting in March, you'll be able to see her play all twenty-six characters from the Oscar Wilde novel
