Here's a roundup of news and reflections on literary adaptations.

• Emerald Fennell, who directed an upcoming adaptation of Emily Brontë’s Wuthering Heights, has also curated the cover and written the foreword to a new edition of the novel; it's part of Simon & Schuster's newly launched Female Filmmakers Collection (The Hollywood Reporter).

• The movie version of Freida McFadden's The Housemaid is mostly faithful to the book, with a few key exceptions (Entertainment Weekly — spoilers definitely included)

• The TV adaptation of Heated Rivalry, based on Rachel Reid's bestselling book series Game Changers, will receive a second season (Deadline).
