We're very, very close.

Testing started Friday on the "matchmaking" part of the system. That involved generating several thousand random reader profiles, then creating the personalized emails and spot checking them for accuracy. So far, so good. The next step is to see how things go when we're processing 50,000 or 100,000 or 250,000 emails -- we don't want to get rolling only to discover a major problem that grinds us to a halt.

We're not going to make Tuesday for opening day. It will likely be Wednesday or Thursday. The worst-case scenario is the following Monday. The reason it won't be Friday is because I want to have two successful days before we have a weekend, when the IT guys are available only for emergencies.

The good news is four days of books are now scheduled and there's a ton of great titles coming your way!
