Netflix will be making a movie out of George Orwell’s Animal Farm.

Deadline, which originally broke the news, says Andy Serkis — known for his work in the Lord of the Rings movies and Planet of the Apes — will direct the motion-capture film.

Animal Farm, of course, uses a group of animals who win their freedom from humans and then allow a pig to destroy their idealistic utopia as an allegory for political developments across Russian history.

The novel is the latest literary acquisition for Netflix, which also picked up Mowgli from Warner Bros last week.

Mowgli, based on Rudyard Kipling’s Jungle Book stories, is a CGI live-action film also directed by Serkis.

Instead of hitting theaters, Mowgli will go straight to Netflix next year, according to Deadline.
