The reviews are in from the children of Brooklyn: Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor’s books are a hit.

Sotomayor and her two adaptations of her 2013 memoir — one for middle-school-aged children, another for those younger still — have been traveling to various event venues, bookstores, and libraries around the country.

My Beloved World, the original work, became The Beloved World of Sonia Sotomayor and Turning Pages (also available in Spanish as Pasando Páginas). The Brooklyn stop on Friday welcomed about five hundred audience members, many of them Hispanic or Latino, reports The New York Times.

Check out the NYT article to find out what else, beyond the common heritage, gave young readers and their parents a sense of connection with the first Hispanic Supreme Court justice.
